Infantile Colic Chiropractor Care

An infant with VA infantile colic is a normal, growing baby that engages in crying bouts for an extended period of time, usually three hours a day for at least three days a week in a three-week period. There are many theories as to the cause of infantile colic. They range from food allergy/intolerance to abnormal peristalsis or excessive gas.

Infantile colic begins in the first week or two of life in an otherwise thriving baby. Infantile colic reaches a peak at 6 weeks and ceases by the age of 2-3 months. As a matter of fact, 20-30% of infants are affected by infantile colic in Alexandria. The infant usually starts to cry at the end of the day and usually at around the age when the parents start to really feel the sleep deprivation. It is no wonder that with colic babies, parents can become frustrated, discouraged, and depressed.

Upon visiting the chiropractor, Dr Steven Trauben DC, your baby will go through a detailed health history and diagnostic exam to figure out how severe the infantile colic is. From the results, the chiropractor will determine a customized treatment plan for your infant.
